And in the words of the collective:

Our collective strives through art and visual mediums to back and support anyone who is pushing to make the changes we all are looking to see in the world. We want you to believe that whatever you are going threw in the name of your peoples is valid and worth having faith in so we bring it to the frontline to remind folks that when it comes to the people's struggle, well in the words of T La Rock "it's yours!!" so trust it ,believe in it, love it, give it your all, but don't ever let nobody take it from you.

RJD2 Ghostwriter Remix

So this is actually the first song that I ever heard from my man Hater, and this was over 2 years ago. Seriously people, this kid destroys this beat and will have you singing this song like the lyrics were meant to be on the original cut. Def peep his myspace where he posts all his new music and news. You'll be seeing plenty more downloads from Hater in the future, I've got 2 years worth of material from the cat, and he isn't a sleeper.

Pictures from Hyphen One's, Hip-Hop Is Not Dead Pt. 1 on May 14, 2007.

Shout to the homies Tah Phrum Duh Bush (providing Hater with boosted view), the Dumhi fellas I see you, and of course H-1 and Daylow. This show was crazyy, props to H-1 for making it go down.

Bootleg Sessions Vol. 2 DVD

The project is a documentary of a very diverse group of cyclists all trying to prove that there is an unlimited number of ways to have fun on a bike. The project is simple and straightforward, but very effective at the same time. Check out the trailer below and more info here.

New Video from Hyphen-One

New video from my homey Hyphen-One for his single "Denville" (obviously H-1's hometown). In case you don't know, Hyphen is one of the hardest working independent artists that I have ever seen. His hustle is insane, from DJing parties, painting and doing his art, being a solo artist who has completed two albums and being the frontman for the band Daylow. This man gets it in for real. Definitely take a look and listen at what he's getting into, he always has his hands in something. His most recent projects are the recently completed Daylow album, Ill Regular (Release party this Friday @ The Bowery Poetry Club in NY), and he dropped his Sophomore solo album this time last year.

The pics below are Hyphen-One's self-portraits which can be found on the cover of his 1st and 2nd solo albums. Also peep the free downloads at the bottom (don't be mad guys, its good promo!)..."The First Letter" and "Denville" off H-1's 2nd album, and "My Life" which is the opening track from his Debut album. Plus the bonus Daylow track, "I See The World" off the EP.

H-1's Self-Portrait Canvas @ Hip-Hop Is Not Dead Pt. 2 on June 15, 2007. This was his Sophomore Album release party.

I'll send you the online catalog with 5 more designs that you don't see here.

Ambient Marketing

Javier Carrasco and Miguel Olivares are two young Madrillenos who weren't really planning on starting one of the hottest new publicity boutiques in Europe. But, the companies just keep coming to them. Pink Fish, Match.com, Disney and Playboy are a few of the various companies that have employed their progressive new approach to marketing. They mix marketing with street theatre, surrealism, pop art aesthetic, and oriental philosophy. These are art installations more than they are commercials.

Bike Lanes = Death Traps

So I had a little incident today. Thanks to some dumb fuck (excuse my language but I could have been seriously hurt or even killed, luckily I just came out with a scraped elbow, badly bruised hip and possibly fractured foot) who was double-parked in the middle of the bike lane on 6th and Market. I go for the pass and boom! He opens his car door and nails me, sending me flying over the car door and slamming into the asphalt at full speed. Mother fucker, excuse my language again but the bike lane is not a fucking parking lane.

Graphic Design: The New Basics

As things progress, the modes of learning change. A good example is skateboarding. Beginner skaters start by learning tricks (ie kickflip) that would have been considered advanced 10 years ago. Some old common tricks aren't even practiced anymore (the ho-ho plant!). The same thing applies to design, and this book promotes the idea. Instead of treading through the basics you see in old Bauhaus manuals, The New Basics jumps right into the heavy stuff. Concepts like dimension, scale, layers, transparency, and color have changed definitions and this book addresses them (The New Basics). In addition, the examples used are cutting edge modern citing things like Google maps, sculptures, and commercial products. This is a great book for the newbie or the ol'head that needs to get up to speed.
