Chilll
Let me introduce you to Woodblue, a Japanese producer. These 2 albums are so fresh, relaxing, soulful and straight up on-point. The production and mixes are almost too good. Sounding very similar to the sound of the Nujabes or Tsutchie, but also it has its originality. Here's both of his LP's from last year, North Surface & North Letter. Talk about rainy day music, these albums will take you on a musical and mental journey.
Electric Feel
Props to my man DJ Phsh for putting me on to this jawn last night. Smashh.

J. Period and Game Rebellion - Searching For Rick Rubin
In simplest terms, Game Rebellion is just a bunch of black kids making rock music. That's how they introduce themselves on their mixtape, Searching For Rick Rubin, which is a collaboration effort with DJ J. Period. But Game Rebellion is much more complex than that. Parts Mos Def, part Sex Pistols, Game Rebellion is nothing short of exactly what the music industry needs: a total and complete middle finger to fitting in, selling out, dumbing down, and whatever the fuck else the music industry makes artists do.

New Aesop
This was first given away (in a package dubbed the Ghosts of the Barbary Coast project) at a Jeremy Fish art opening in San Francisco. All who attended received a USB keychain pre-loaded with the new Aesop cut, the instrumental, lyrics and a Quicktime slideshow of artwork by Jeremy Fish. If you aren’t aware of Fish’s work, he was responsible for Aesop’s entire booklet for None Shall Pass, Silly Pink Bunnies, and tonsss of ill art. Anyways… Def Jux has now put up the package online and available for fans that didn’t attend the show. Thanks 2db. I included some recently released cuts with Aesop also, enjoy.

Let Me Introduce....
HATER
Yeah, someone actually did it, they made their emcee name Hater. For real though, I met this cat back about three years ago and he's got skillz-to-kill. Just Listen, trust mee. Dude has some crazy rap singin shit going on with dope melodies. Some stuff is like five years old, some only a year or two. My favorite is still the Foot In Mouth Remix over RJD2s Ghostwriter beat, I will never hear that beat the same way again because of this, no joke. Oh, and My Headphones and the classic Chronic Love Song.

It's Official
It's official, The Roots are going to be the new house band for the Jimmy Fallon late night show.
I really don't know how I feel about all this. Not that big of a Jimmy Fallon fan but I'm happy for The Roots, makin' moves. I just hope this doesn't cut down on the amount of Roots shows that I get to see each year.

Kiva.org....You can actually make a difference.
I saw this pod on Currentv yesterday and I was blown away by the idea, it's just sooo damn good. This is possibly the best idea ever!
What Is Kiva?
We Let You Loan to the Working Poor
Kiva's mission is to connect people through lending for the sake of alleviating poverty.
Kiva is the world's first person-to-person micro-lending website, empowering individuals to lend directly to unique entrepreneurs in the developing world.
The people you see on Kiva's site are real individuals in need of funding - not marketing material. When you browse entrepreneurs' profiles on the site, choose someone to lend to, and then make a loan, you are helping a real person make great strides towards economic independence and improve life for themselves, their family, and their community. Throughout the course of the loan (usually 6-12 months), you can receive email journal updates and track repayments. Then, when you get your loan money back, you can relend to someone else in need.
Kiva partners with existing expert microfinance institutions. In doing so, we gain access to outstanding entrepreneurs from impoverished communities world-wide. Our partners are experts in choosing qualified entrepreneurs. That said, they are usually short on funds. Through Kiva, our partners upload their entrepreneur profiles directly to the site so you can lend to them. When you do, not only do you get a unique experience connecting to a specific entrepreneur on the other side of the planet, but our microfinance partners can do more of what they do, more efficiently.
Kiva provides a data-rich, transparent lending platform. We are constantly working to make the system more transparent to show how money flows throughout the entire cycle, and what effect it has on the people and institutions lending it, borrowing it, and managing it along the way. To do this, we are using the power of the internet to facilitate one-to-one connections that were previously prohibitively expensive. Child sponsorship has always been a high overhead business. Kiva creates a similar interpersonal connection at much lower costs due to the instant, inexpensive nature of internet delivery. The individuals featured on our website are real people who need a loan and are waiting for socially-minded individuals like you to lend them money.
Visit Kiva.org to become a lender and find out more info.

While we are on the Common tip, I got this Common Sense and Cee-Lo joint last week...I'm diggin it, nice one for the ladies, check it.
Common feat. Cee-Lo - Make My Day
Gaming Industry Troubles...Snake Eyes
"But at the end of the day, it remains to be seen whether the decision to legalize slots gambling will have a positive economic impact on the state or be a net negative. Just look at Atlantic City, where 30 years of casinos has done little to change the broader economy there. The social ills of gambling - including increased bankruptcy, crime and divorce - are a real cost that undermine the benefits of the added tax revenue."
An excerpt from "Gaming Industry Troubles", an editorial from The Philly Inquirer.

Seriously, if you haven't heard Blu by now, you are missing out! Hands down, my favorite emcee in the longest time ever. Anything and everything that dude touches, I'm sooo down with. Please, do yourself a favor and listen to this cat, like really listen. You won't regret it. Tracks from all over the place, if you want more (and you will) you gotta hunt em down yourself. In My Tapedeck, Side 7 (Tokyo Police Club)
When I first got these tracks I was skeptical because I'm normally not a fan of many remixes to songs. I really only downloaded these remixes because I have been on a Tokyo Police Club stint lately while riding the bike....and I needed moree! After giving the remixes a listen, I was completely impressed and happy that they were so well done. Long story short, I just discovered "The Remix Company" also known as RAC (Remix Artists Collective). Sounds like a pretty cool idea, even though I still don't no much about them because their website will not load for me right now. Maybe you will have better luck. Original songs and remixes below.
